What I learned in 2012
I've been making these lists every year since I graduated college in 2005. The introspection requires me to both celebrate the victories and accept the lessons from the previous year. It's not always easy, but there's something calming about finding peace with each year as it passes.
This year I learned :
... although I often feel otherwise, my metabolism is definitely well into its 30’s.
...that my taste for beer extends beyond Boulevard Wheat & Miller Lite.
...to apologize less for my feelings.
... that self acceptance starts with letting your hair air dry.
... gratitude is an active feeling.
... what the happiest day of my life felt like.
... fear of not being good enough prevented me from moving on for a long time.
… I have a lot to learn, but there’s nothing more motivating or inspirational than working with people you admire.
Next year I hope to:
..shop less and live more.
..write letters just because.
..write more just because.
.. become more financially fit and physically flexible.
